Terms of Service
Last updated: August 24, 2026. By creating an account or using ToyRelay, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Using ToyRelay
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or enter into a transaction through ToyRelay.
You are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for activity that takes place through your account. Information you provide to ToyRelay should be accurate and kept reasonably up to date.
2. Our role
ToyRelay is a marketplace that helps people buy, sell and swap items with other members.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, ToyRelay does not own the items listed by members and does not independently inspect, manufacture or warrant them. Sellers are responsible for the items they list and for the accuracy of their listings.
Contracts for the purchase, sale or swap of items are between the participating members. ToyRelay provides the marketplace, payment and transaction tools, and Relay Point network that help facilitate those transactions.
3. Listings
You may only list items that you own, have the right to sell or swap, and that fit within ToyRelay's available listing categories. Children's clothing categories are optional: they only appear for members who have opted in to see them, and they may be turned off through your Account settings at any time.
Listings must accurately describe the item's condition, including significant damage, missing pieces or other issues that could reasonably affect a buyer's decision.
Photos should reasonably represent the actual item being offered.
ToyRelay may remove or restrict listings that violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines or applicable law.
4. Payments and ToyRelay Protection
Payments made through ToyRelay are processed through our payment provider and held as part of the ToyRelay transaction process until the applicable inspection period ends or the buyer confirms the item is satisfactory.
Any applicable fees are shown before the transaction is confirmed.
For Relay Point and shipped orders, buyers must report eligible problems within the stated inspection window. If no issue is reported within that period, funds may be released to the seller.
Items exchanged in person are inspected at the meet-up itself, and there is no inspection window afterwards. The buyer should check the item before taking it. If the buyer declines the item at the meet-up because it is materially not as described, the buyer should not take it, the seller keeps it, and the order is cancelled and refunded in full with nothing to return. Once both members confirm the handoff, the order is complete and final. This also applies where a Relay Point drop-off is refused and the order switches to an in-person exchange.
Transactions or payments arranged privately outside ToyRelay, including cash payments, are not covered by ToyRelay Protection.
5. Relay Points
Host shops accept and hold packages as a convenience. Items left uncollected beyond the stated hold period may be returned to the seller.
Relay Points only accept reasonably sized packages — items that fit in a shopping bag, tote, or reasonably sized moving box and are easy for a small shop to store. Sellers must choose a package size when listing, and confirm before their drop-off pass is issued that the package is a reasonable size. Oversized items — large, bulky or awkward things such as outdoor playsets, bikes or ride-on toys — can still be listed, but must be handed over in person.
A host may refuse a drop-off that is too large or bulky, or otherwise unsuitable. Nothing is scanned in and no fee applies. Where that happens, the order automatically switches to an in-person handover and the seller and buyer are notified. They then have a short resolution period set by ToyRelay (currently 3 days) to complete the trade in person. Either party may cancel the order during that period if they would rather not meet up, and the buyer is refunded in full; if the trade isn't completed in time, the order is cancelled and refunded automatically.
6. Returns, refunds and disputes
If an item is materially different from its listing, damaged in a way that was not disclosed, missing significant components or otherwise eligible for review under ToyRelay Protection, the buyer must report the issue within the applicable inspection window. For in-person exchanges, this check happens at the meet-up rather than afterwards.
ToyRelay may request photographs, messages or other information reasonably necessary to review the issue.
If ToyRelay approves a return, the buyer must follow the return instructions and return the item within the stated return period. A refund may be conditional on the item being returned in substantially the same condition in which it was received.
If an approved return is not dropped off within the stated deadline, the return may be cancelled and the seller's funds may be released.
ToyRelay may issue a full or partial refund where appropriate. Decisions regarding funds held within the ToyRelay transaction system are made by ToyRelay for platform purposes.
7. Swaps
Sellers may choose whether an item is available for swapping.
Members may offer another listed item and, where supported, propose a monetary top-up. Both parties must agree to the terms of the swap before completing it.
Swaps are currently completed through an in-person handoff rather than through Relay Points. Members are responsible for choosing an appropriate meeting location and checking the items involved before completing the exchange.
8. Prohibited conduct and prohibited items
You may not use ToyRelay for fraud, harassment, unlawful activity, scraping, interference with the service, or attempts to circumvent ToyRelay fees or protections on transactions initiated through the platform.
You must never list, sell, swap or place in a Relay Point package any prohibited, dangerous, restricted or illegal item.
This includes, without limitation, weapons, ammunition or realistic weapon replicas; explosives, fireworks or flammable, corrosive or toxic substances; damaged, loose or recalled lithium batteries; illegal drugs; alcohol, tobacco or vaping products; recalled or unsafe products; perishable or living things; cash or negotiable instruments; stolen or counterfeit goods; adult or age-restricted material; or anything prohibited by applicable law.
Items that present significant hygiene, health or safety concerns may also be restricted from ToyRelay even if they are otherwise lawful.
Sellers using a Relay Point must confirm that each package does not contain prohibited, dangerous, restricted or illegal items before their drop-off pass can be used. ToyRelay may record this confirmation against the applicable transaction or package for safety, compliance and dispute purposes.
9. Package loss or damage
Members must package items reasonably securely for handling and temporary storage at a Relay Point.
If a package is reported lost or damaged while in the ToyRelay Relay Point system, ToyRelay will review the transaction and available custody records and determine the appropriate resolution based on the circumstances.
A Relay Point Host is not responsible for deciding whether a buyer or seller is entitled to compensation, a refund or a return. Such decisions are handled through ToyRelay.
10. Account suspension and termination
ToyRelay may restrict, suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these Terms, our Community Guidelines or applicable law have been violated, or where action is reasonably necessary to protect ToyRelay, Relay Points or other members.
You may close your account once outstanding transactions, returns, disputes and other obligations associated with the account have been resolved.
Certain transaction records may be retained after account closure as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, ToyRelay is not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from member-to-member transactions or use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as ToyRelay and its services develop.
If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice before the changes take effect where appropriate. The current version and its effective date will be available through ToyRelay.
13. Contact
